Recently rapist Roman Polanski won an oscar. It seems the rich and famous can't be sent to prison. What is wrong with the justice system, how can we fix it?

Well, in this particular case, it's more that Roman Polanski has stayed outside the USA. (Which, of course, his wealth makes it easy to do.) If he sets foot in the USA he will be arrested right away.
In general, however, you make a good point. Certainly wealth allows one to obtain the best possible legal defense. I don't have a good, practical solution. It would be nice to aim for equal justice for all, but that seems to be an extremely difficult goal.
