Okay, yesterday we had some statements made by Rev Wright and today a sharp reaction in opposition to those comments made by Barack Obama. What in the hell is going on here? This story just won't go away. Not to mention there's beginning to be a food shortage of certain items because the Democrats keep throwing it at each other. Just the other day I had to make an emergency order for more Jello. This is getting serious my friends. So, who's behind it? I'll lay out a few scenarios for consideration.

Rush Limbaugh - He's taking credit for it, but then again he likes to take credit for damn near everything. No question though he has influenced some GOP voters to cross the line to keep the Democrat primary going.

Hillary Clinton - The Clinton political machine is one of the best-organized and meanest group of political operatives we've ever seen. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they weren't behind this. They don't take prisoners.

Barack Obama - It's a stretch, but could it be that he's attempting to distract voters from his real views on the issues? It's easy to disavow the views of a retired pastor, more difficult to sell the views of a classic tax and spend liberal to the American people.

John McCain - Obviously this helps him, if for no other reason that his eventual opponent is spending money trying to win the nomination, not the general election.

The Democrats - Crazy Howie is a doctor, not a cat herder. Enough said.

The Republicans - Cause everyone knows how mean-spirited we are. Kind of a stretch though since Republicans seem to have had a difficult time organizing much of anything lately.

The Media - Definite possibility since they need something to talk about other than where in the world is Matt Lauer. OJ isn't on trial right now and there's nothing new on Britney Spears.

Aquilla - I'll plead the 5th on this option, but I am voting for myself. laugh.gif

So, the question for debate.....

Who is really behind this Democrat food fight and obviously, why?

Darn! I tried to make this a poll..... blush.gif

Oh well, pretend you voted anyway, like the Democrats in Florida and Michigan.......

.Who is really behind this Democrat food fight and obviously, why

We have learned that the woman who set up the national Press Club event for Wright is a Hillary supporter. IMO this was not an accident.

Now, Rasmussen is reporting that a significant number of Democrats (29%) think Hillary should run for President as an Independent. Link

From the article.....

QUOTE
However, if Clinton does not win the Democratic Party nomination, 29% of Democrats say she should run an Independent campaign for the White House. Sixty-one percent (61%) of Democrats disagree. Clinton supporters are evenly divided on the question.

Whoa! This food fight could continue into November with people throwing turkey and stuffing at each other!

I love it when a plan comes together - John "Hannibal" Smith

I don't think Hillary Clinton will run as an independent. It would probably destroy her power within the Democratic Party. She has too much to lose.

She is also on record as saying that she would support the Democratic nominee. Of course, promises from the Clintons are only valid until they get ready to move the goal posts. sad.gif

I agree that she wouldn't do something like running as an independent either, that would be political suicide for her within the Democrat Party. But what I find pretty incredible in this are the poll numbers of Democrats who want her to do it. 29% is a pretty significant number.

Not to be me but it wasn't too long ago Clinton was saying:

Tim Russert: "Would you accept the nomination [in 2004] for president or vice president?"
Hillary Clinton: "No."
Russert: "Will you run in 2008?"
HRC: "I have no plans to run for president"

So while she claims she won't run as an Independent...

I really don't take much stock in these polls. Democrats, for the most part, will come together around Barack Obama by the first Tuesday of November. Right now they hate each other, but time heals all wounds, Clinton's supporters will flock to the polls to circle in Obama.

Normally I'd agree with you on this, but this election cycle on the Democrat side of the aisle has been like nothing I've ever seen. Just look at some of the threads here where the food fight is mentioned and both sides start throwing macaroni and cheese at each other. They can't help it. laugh.gif I really am beginning to wonder if there are divisions in the Democrat Party so deep that the normal "Kum-By-Yah" thing isn't going to happen at the end of all of this for them. I don't put much stock in that poll either, not at least right now, but there's something going on out there I think.

By the way, welcome to ad.gif TC. Always good to see another Conservative Republican here, there's not that many of us. ermm.gif But, we do throw the best BBQ Parties online! thumbsup.gif
