Welcome. Life begins at 40, apparently, though I haven't noticed any change these past 8 months.

Happy Birthday DTOM, and welcome home. I hope today is a special one for you.

Did it hurt when you woke up 40? I felt like anvils were on my chest.

Happy Birthday DTOM.

And if I haven't said it before, thank you very much for doing what you do. I wish I could repay the service in some way. I think of you often when I am considering political decisions as I know very few people in the 'political way' I know you, who have been in the same situation. I am always sensible of your opinions. I'm over joyed to read you are safe and home again!

Jaime
Happy Birthday DTOM!!!

I join in with your many well-wishers in hoping you've had a fabulous day celebrating here at home. May it be everything you want it to be. You deserve a good birthday this year (you may even deserve a vacation, but check with Mike on that laugh.gif )

Cheers!

Happy birthday, thank you for your service, and welcome home, Dontreadonme. I appreciated hearing your views from the frontlines, but I hope and expect you won't have to go back there.

Happy Birthday, DTOM.

I'm glad you're home, but I'm going to miss those firsthand updates from Iraq in the Surge thread. Ted probably won't, but I will.

Thank you everybody!

My birthday could have been better, but also could have been worse. Around midnight (birthday eve), we had a 1/2 mile wide tornado pass within a mile of where we live. We didn't sustain any damage, but the town that we live on the outskirts of got shellacked pretty good. Houses flattened, businesses damaged, etc. We got up that morning to check on our items in storage, found them to be fine, but the debris of around 50 houses and businesses scattered all around. The Mrs and my girls spent most of the morning walking around for miles picking up papers and especially photos that were strewn about. We hope that the town will have a collection point for these items so we can return some memories to people who have lost everything. Then I had to fly to the east coast for a Friday meeting. So we will spend this weekend celebrating my birthday and Father's Day.

Does it count if I don't feel 40? I'm probably in the best shape of my life and feel like kid at heart......but I told the Mrs that I have now reached mid-life crisis and needed a mistress and a sports car. I can't repeat her response and stay within forum rules. dry.gif

Happy birthday- at 40, B-days are just another day you know! thumbsup.gif

I hear you man- I have been in the best shape now than I have been since basic- seems older age also means "more discipline"

Piece of advice from your "elder laugh.gif "- stay away from the mistress and the sports car- they are both too expensive and require too much maintainence- I suggest a new "hog" thumbsup.gif (hit me up for the best deals- you are in the right part of the country for two wheelin' cheap naughty fun by brutha!) w00t.gif

Apparently you haven't picked up much at 40 if you made that statement out loud:lol:
