Well I've been on this site for about 2 years and I guess I never did an introduction.

Hi.

i've been mostly a lurker for the past two years, really trying to learn morethan anything else. I am a 35-year old, vegetarian- once-Hindu girl living in the SF bay area. I used to be very liberal, then less liberal, and now am fairly centric with some leftist leanings. I have a PhD in biomedical engineering and an MFA in creative writing. I work as a manager of communications for a non-profit pharma company, and moonlight as a writer. I have one work of historical fiction with my agent, another that I am writing. I have a greyhound and love all thins dog. I live by the beach and love all things marine, even if I am too scared to try them. smile.gif

You sound like a very nice young lady and I am sure you will be an asset to the AD board as you (hopefully) post more and “lurk” less!

I enjoy reading historical fiction, can you tell us the premise of your work?

Sure. My finished manuscript is about the spread of papermaking in southern France in the early 14th century, and the Church's opposition to it.

The second tale is still fairly nebulous but it is about a widow trying to find a new life in ancient India.
