I think it ideal when those who are in government can exercise kindness and care without having to cite a particular religious tenet in order to justify that positive behavior. Morality that is generated from within and not dependent upon externals such as what other people might think is the best morality.

Congratulations, all - there's not an award on here that wasn't very well deserved. Having met Mrs. P, I didn't cast a vote for her for Member You Most Want to Meet, so maybe next year we should have a Member You Wish Lived Next Door award. smile.gif I'd like to add especial congratulations to Dontreadonme, my fellow nominee in the Best Overall Debater run-off, as well as drewyorktimes, our runner-up. Both were far worthier of such an accolade than I. thumbsup.gif

Oh, and...

Happy Anniversary,

And thanks to Baphomets and ConservPat for the nomination. Next time, I'll offer a better exit strategy, and not succumb to negative political ads.

OK, clearly there has been a cosmic error....there is no way I should have beat out Wertz. He's like the elder statesman of ad.gif

Congratulations to everyone who won and to all of the nominees. It's been a tumultuous year for many of us, but the standards of civilized debate and incredible intellect continued to be raised for yet another year. Happy Anniversary America's Debate!

And a debt of gratitude for the hard work that Mike and Jaime put into this forum, I know I don't thank them enough!

Congratulations to all the winners and everyone else who is participating here on ad.gif. It is still far and away the best debate site on the web. A special congratulations to DTOM who really deserved the best overall debater award this year.

Just wondering (since I won something for the first time! Thank you!) if this year's winners will be getting their achievements in their signature lines as they have in previous years... unsure.gif

Mike
It's not a simple five minute task to create graphics, and I have a lot going on in real life aside from the forum that takes precedent. I've started them, but haven't had a chance to work on them for quite a while.

They're on my (massive) to-do list, and I'll get them done as time permits.

Thanks for understanding,
