For the record, I didn't set myself to Republican - one of the folks who run this site did.

Recently the above line appeared on the board. I am not going to say who said it, or when, or provide a link.

I will have been here five years August 14. I have heard a lot of complaints and made a few, but I have never heard anything about staff setting personal preferences for a member.

I have one question for clarification.

Does staff ever edit preferences, like party identification?

Absolutely not.

To me, this sounds like code for "I made a preference when I first joined the site, now I do not know how to change it."

If that is the case, or for anyone else who doesn't know how to change their political affiliation; click on your member name to go to your profile; under your personal photo or the placeholder for said photo, click 'Options'; click 'Edit Member'; and make the necessary changes. Click 'Edit Member' again to save.

I concur with DTOM's posts here.

I suppose, of course, if you want to be REALLY persnickety, yeah, we pick your original affiliation - if you count 'Undisclosed' as an affiliation. 'Undisclosed' is the default upon sign up. Outside of that, YOU pick; staff does not. Anyone who has told you otherwise is mistaken.

However, the ad.gif staff would be happy to help you make the proper party disclosure if you need assistance- just drop one of us a line smile.gif
