We are happy to announce a new live chat schedule.

Beginning on June 1, we will start holding bi-monthly scheduled chats in the America's Debate chat room.

The chats will occur on the 1st and the 15th of each month. Each chat will start at 9:00 PM Eastern / 6:00 PM Pacific / 2:00 AM GMT (sorry). There is, of course, one exception-- Saturday chats will begin at 4:00 PM Eastern / 1:00 PM Pacific / 9:00 PM GMT. Most of the chats we have had in the past have lasted at least two hours, so you don't have to show up on time or anything like that...

Of course, we'll continue to schedule chats during and after major national speeches, such as the State of the Union Address or a presidential debate.

For those of you who have not been to one of the (rare) live chats, you don't know what you're missing!

It is generally very relaxed, and it is rare that anything is actually debated. It is, however, a great way to get to know one another away from the formality of debate, and without having to stay on topic.

If you would like to schedule a chat to debate a specific topic, or just to chat in general, please let us know. We'd be happy to add it to the calendar for other members to see.

Also, it is worth noting that the chat room is always open, even if there are no staff members around.

It is a good idea to use your member name as your user name when you log in to the chat room so everyone else knows who you are.

Please join us! The chats are VERY fun. Don't worry about coming late or getting there early. There are rarely any real debates going on and lots more 'casual conversation.'

If any of you are having problems with getting in, PM Mike. He's got a number of solutions.
