Which school of economical thought most influenced the 20th Century?

I read quite often about how America has an oppressive influence on Europe. I could argue that much of our economic policies today are the result of importation of Fabianism to the US. I believe Fabian/Keynesianism wins hands down.

An excellent article on the Fabians can be found here

For some reason that link only goes to the sites main page, please use the sites search feature to do a search under fabian or "the imitation of england"

All three have been very influential. However, the neo-classicists are the ones in harmony with the Tao. cool.gif

It's not one of the options in your poll, but I'd say that one of the most influential economic schhols of thought in the 20th Century was the Boston Consulting Group.

In effect, they 'invented' consumer marketing (even thought they didn't, they just came up with some theories to explain it and methods to exploit it), which made the current world economy possible, regardless of the political systems in effect in any particular area at a particular time.
