Passion, it wasn't simply some building the IDF thought terrorists were using for operations.

This three-story building in this northern Gaza town, however, had enough flour, cooking oil and rice stored on its ground floor to feed 38,000 people for a month. The goods belonged to the U.N.-affiliated World Food Program.
...It was meant for Palestinians made destitute by two years of Mideast violence that led Israel to ban most Palestinian workers from entering, cutting off a main source of income for the crowded, impoverished Gaza Strip.
While the IDF claimed later that it was destroyed because of presumed terrorist activity, they never claimed what kind of activity or who exactly it was they were targeting. The building was also clearly marked as being used for the United Nations food program.
There was no need to destroy the building and certainly more was lost in the destruction than was necessary. The IDF didn't just destroy some building they claimed was used by terrorists, they destroyed a massive amount of food aid for the Palestinian population.
It was no more careful or considerate a response than firing rockets into residential areas or driving over people and homes. It was no more cautious of civilian casualties and other losses (food aid for example) than shelling a Palestinian school, snipers shooting 11 year-olds flying kites, and the IDF dropping a one ton bomb on a residential area to get at a single terror activist.
I brought up the warehouse link a second time on the third page because

These houses are the personal property of Hamas leaders and other terrorists. Lets not forget that
I'm not saying Israel shouldn't retaliate and take measures to protect themselves from Palestinian terrorists, but I do not believe they should be so reckless in their retaliations. I doubt seriously if we would approve of the United States Air Force dropping a one ton bomb in a New York suburb just to try killing one person. Surely neither they or the IDF would expect a minimal number of civilian casualties.
I haven't seen but one person possibly defend the actions of Palestinian terrorists either,
Passion. But while I don't condone their actions, I don't condone the horrible reactions the IDF takes part in either. If you don't give a "rat's butt" why any of us perhaps have an issue with how Israel chooses to respond to terrorist actions, what's the purpose of debating the issue with you?
Bottome line from my end, the IDF seems to frequently engage in activities little better than those of their Palestinian counterparts. As long as they're going to engage in responses no more considerate of innocent lives than the terrorists they seek to combat, I'm not going to lend support to relaxing any possible "leash" that may be on their forces.
