GRRRR! My new apple computer won't let me in the chat room. I will keep trying, but if I don't make it that's the reason. Mr P is out of town for 2 MONTHS, and he's the handy computer person. I hope I make it.

mrs P, don't blame the Apple!!! I'm a MacHead myself. So's Cyan. If you are having some problems, we might be able to help. What I don't know, my mom and dad do. They are both Uber Mac folks.

My mom was a music teacher for all the years we lived in India. When we moved stateside, she decided to change jobs, and started selling computers. This was 1982. I'll never forget the day one of her colleagues at the computer store came around the house and said he had heard of this new computer Apple was going to be putting out - the first Mac. Our first Macintosh was one of the first 1000 off the line, and it had the names of the Apple team etched inside the cover. For all the crap they have gotten over the years, there's no denying that they revolutionized the whole concept of personal computing.

I eventually used netscape instead of the explorer to get in.
I like the Mac, too. Our last computer was a Mac but it was a laptop, I'm just extremely computer illiterate and have trouble switching to a new one.

I just thought it was worth mentioning how enjoyable last night's chat was. Seems like it was a smaller crowd than last time, but very congenial. Thanks, everyone, for making it such a success. Those who haven't joined us for a chat don't know what they're missing.

Thanks for initiating that, bela. It was a strange and interesting evening. For those who missed it, last night's impromptu chat encompassed everything from an edifying technical symposium (thank you, Platypus and sleeper) to fits of hilarious grotesquerie (thank you, quarkhead), including such subjects as camping mishaps, the art of Edward Gorey, high school mathematics, Chinese astrology, bristlecone pines, Iranian novelists, and Abs' career possibilities in the adult entertainment industry. Only at America's Debate.

I am once again unable to get into the chat. I can access it through netscape, but the screen is only two inches wide and there's no way to enlarge it. So, I can't read anything. I feel so left out.

Live Chat Schedule

We do the live chats every month on the 1st and the 15th at 9:00 PM Eastern unless the chat falls on a Saturday. If it does fall on a Saturday, they start at 4:00 PM.

The live chats are scheduled on the calendar (very bottom of the main forum page), and I put up an unavoidable big box on the day of the chat to remind people.
