I find the new Senate Drug Plan to be a very scary proposition. It is hard for me to believe that after all the complaining and doomsday predictions about the latest round of tax cuts and how bad the economy is, they are planning on adding an additional 40 billion a year to the federal budget. (bear in mind this is only an estimated cost.) My contention is, Why? Why do people expect others to buck up and pay for things they want? Where is this money going to come from, and why are the conservatives going along? Another thing is that many people who have not paid in to the Medicare or S.S. system will be getting the benefits. Is that fair? At least the proposal involves a monthly premium and a co-pay, which makes sense. I guess I am just upset because they are using my money to fund this program, because the money that seniors have paid in is gone now. I mean, why can't they realize that if people had been allowed to invest their S.S. money, they would all be financially OK and would not need this program.
