Many studies have shown the aesthetically handicapped suffer discrimination in all areas of life. They suffer substantial penalties in both economic and social life. They earn substantially less than equally educated aesthetically pleasing people. Socially, they are less likely to be married. What can be done to rid our society of discrimination against the ugly. (I consider myself ugly, therefore I can use the word). Should affirmative action programs be in place? Should government subsidized plastic surgery be instituted? Should government ads preaching "ugly is beautiful" be run? It seems as other discriminations are on the wane that discrimination against the ugly is stronger than ever. Who wants to join me in forming UGLY(Union of Gross Looking Yahoos).
