Hepburn died on 6/29/03 at 2:50 p.m. She was one of the most famous of the Silver Screen error in Hollywood and was considered a diva and a sex symbol. She was one of my favorite actresses and I fell in love with her the first time I saw her play Jo in "Little Women", which was my favorite movie of hers. She played one of the first "tomboy" characters in Hollywood, her character was very strong and assertive and I could relate to her when I saw it for the first time at 10 years old. I will miss her tremendously. crying.gif

Katherine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart were incredible in The African Queen. And of course, she was great opposite Spencer Tracy.

Also, she did a wonderful job in On Golden Pond with Henry and Jane Fonda.

I loved her spirit. She will be missed.

I thought she was terrific - and, unlike some other Hollywood legends (like Bette Davis) who got away with having a strong personality and a striking screen presence, Hepburn could actually act - and brilliantly. Further, she was equally adept at both serious drama and light comedy. Among her best films, I would include Bringing Up Baby, The Philadelphia Story, Woman of the Year, The African Queen, Suddenly, Last Summer, and, perhaps her best performance ever, The Lion in Winter. Though she hadn't done much apart from a few (quite good) TV movies for the past twenty years, she will be sorely missed. sad.gif

She had class and style and grace. I was fortunate to see her on the live stage many years ago, in a production of "The West Side Waltz" in Los Angeles. Although she was already showing the signs of the Parkinson's-like trembling that was to plague her for so long, she did a fine job, and could deliver a witty line with perfect sharpness of mind.
