Fox has an online IQ test. Make sure you have a good environment before testing. I think it will repeat the same questions so the first time is the one the counts, no matter the distractions, oopses or interruptions.

IQ Test

I like these kind of tests but I was still arguing with my computer about some of this. I scored 135 but I am going to tell everyone I have an IQ of 244 blink.gif w00t.gif

Have fun. Report the scores or just make comments.

FOX TV had a program called Test America's IQ or something to like that a few weeks back. I participated along with the audience and scored a 124. I was very upset though because Leeza Gibbons kept talking after a question was asked and I found it very hard to concentrate.

I may try to take the test again when I get back from vacation and am in a quiet room with NO distractions.

Thanks for the link Eeyore!

This is the Fox test online.

127. (Lower than I have scored on other tests)

Although I think the timed questions are more appropriate than non-timed, I don't see how they figure in age to the equation.

For example, I got 55 correct answers. Since I am 30, they figure a 127 IQ. Were I age 55, my IQ would be 142.

I also don't like the fact that once you click, you cannot change your answer. It happened to me twice (premature clicking).

C'est la vie, I guess.

The test was interesting, but kinda long.
Sleeper
Gahhhh, You never said how long it would take, I got to question 42 and had to close it becuase people were coming in...
Eeyore
Amlord, I am thirty six and I got bonus points for being older than you. We got the same number of q's right. Is this ageist affirmative action? Or is this the right way to figure out IQ?

I saw a mensa link that found the scores on this test to be similar to there tests.

Um. Er...I think now we should consider the importance of personality and looks over intelligence. A good set of teeth, for instance. That's very important and...um....eyelashes. Yes. Inner beauty of the spirit is of the utmost importance of value. whistling.gif

You should really warn everyone that the test is extremely long Eeyore. I barely managed to get through with the background noise in my house (kids fighting). Mine is 123, which is a bit lower than others I've taken, but pretty close. Not everyone is as smart as the Eeyore tongue.gif
Abs like Jesus
For anybody thinking of taking the test, it's 60 questions with a mandatory time for each question. The times range from 15 seconds to 30 seconds. It'll take you a considerable amount of time.

I scored 50 correct for an IQ of 120. I can't tell you how this compares with other tests because I don't recall having ever taken any "official" IQ tests previously. tongue.gif

I thought these tests were designed to make 100 average. (That's what I was told today by an unnamed source) The test came up with an average of around 113. If I remember men did a little better than women and republicans and dems were equal.
OlympiaManet
I just took the Mensa hone test yesterday and it has been sent off. I am not stoopid but I certainly needed a few more moments for some of the questions though others I was sitting around drumming my fingers. I am withholding the score for sheer frustration!

I think 100 is the average for the entire population, not the population of test takers. For the record (disclaimer), one of my answers I typed in at the last second and it went to the next screen, so I got 2 wrong I shouldn't have. That would make my score on par with the results I've had before (approx 128).

I'll start my school yard chant...Look at the big brain on Eeyore! Eeyore's a geek! w00t.gif

I'm younger than 18. I deserve an extra .5! 130.5 sounds much better.

I got a 121, and I'm 26, but I don't know how they factor the age in. unsure.gif
Paladin Elspeth
Mine's 121, same as cyan's. happy.gif
They could have explained the table a little better for us merely bright folks. For instance what does a TTN score of 46 mean, anyone? (I'm 50) huh.gif

Yes, taking IQ tests while being timed is frustrating. I don't like to be rushed. And yes, the 121 is (a little) less than what I tested before.

Aren't you glad that life isn't based on IQ scores? biggrin.gif

I think IQ tests are stupid. I got 59 questions correct for 141 points, considering my age (also lower than I've scored in the past) - and so what? Does that actually mean I'm more intelligent that people who happened to score lower - especially considering random factors like premature clicking or environmental distractions? I don't think so. It just means I'm a bit better than some at taking IQ tests. Does it really mean I'm better able to solve problems? Not if you've ever seen me try to work out a 6.5% sales tax. That I'm necessarily more successful? Hah! That my verbal skills or math skills or spatiation skills are more advanced? I seriously doubt it. That my political positions are any sounder? Hmmn - well, maybe... shifty.gif

I suppose it holds out a bit of hope for us, though. If I'd taken this test on the eve of my fifty-fifth birthday, my IQ would've leapt seven points overnight. w00t.gif rolleyes.gif

Paladin Elspeth: A TTN (Test The Nation) score of 46 means you got 46 questions right on some dopey test. If it means anything beyond that, you'll have to ask someone who got a perfect score. huh.gif

Blah blah blah. yeah, right. Okay Smart Boy, I'm kicking your butt next! laugh.gif
Hugo
Well, the second time around I beat my 38 score. I got 61 out of 60 questions, correct. I got an email stating. Congratulations you are the first one to score an impossibly high score. It would be great if you could be world emperor and force your political agenda on everyone.

I'm going to keep taking it until I get them all right, then I'll let you guys know.

Edit.

Why get stuck in a one test rut. My IQ went up by 9 the second time around. blush.gif

There is a link to the answers. Just pull that up and study it (or write them down).

121, which is lower than other tests as well. (usually 128 or so) I'm tired though, which can detract from an Iq score (your brain don't work so good tired)

I don't like the set time for each ? and the fact you can't change your answer. (most IQ tests have a set time to do them in, usually 60 minutes total) I missed at least two of the math questions because of the time limit (not choosing is wrong so I guessed)

Scoff all you like. On the third try I moved up 8 more IQ points. I'm closing in on the great one. w00t.gif
