Belafonte Stands by Criticism of Powell

Am I the only one here that thought that Harry Belafonte was dead?

Really, what has Belafonte done lately to contribute to our society? What has he ever done to contribute to our society?

I'm not looking for a big race debate, hence "Off the Subject", but why does the media find it necessary to cover these celebrity losers?

He has a right to express his opinion.

I doubt that anyone is going to pay much attention to it though.

I know, I know. Harry Belafonte is not a loser.

I actually like some of his music, and in particular, I like it when Jimmy Buffett covers his songs.

But, musicians should stick to what they know: music. I often wonder how many "musicians" even know about that.

Yeah, they have the right to say whatever they want, and I'm not suggesting we curtail that right.

I just think that musicians, and, if I can make a broad generalization here, members of the entertainment industry as a whole, often speak out about issues of which they have no knowledge.

I'd like to see the media stop covering these uninformed and underinformed entertainment-types, in both their political and personal lives.

But it will never happen, so at least I can complain here.
