Article about September eleventh report A report about September Eleventh intelligence was released today. Some of it was classified. Some have suggested the parts that incriminated Saudi Arabia were classified to protect the country that 15 of the 19 hijackers lived in. Many have previously criticized Saudi Arabia for their telethons to raise money for attacks against Israel and their funding of terror. What connection does Saudi Arabia have to the September 11th attacks? Should the report be further declassified? Are the Saudis our friends? Did we invade the wrong country?

The Saudis are in it up to their necks. The majority of the 9/11 hijackers, and Bin Laden were from there, and aside from the Israeli-Palestinian mess, our bases in Saudi Arabia are considered the most unforgivable provocation of fundamentalist Muslim terrorism today. The Saudi govt. is and has been under enormous public pressure to expel us infidels from Islam's capital for some time now, and some of the lower level officials have worked against us. My big question is how high up the food chain did the conspiring (or at least looking the other way) go?

Doesn't mean they directly support Al-Queda because some of the hyjackers were from S.A. or Osama was born there

But i do think the Saudis are a bunch of lying thugs who shouldn't be trusted. It's a bad thing to believe that they are hiding something

I think the most patriotic thing you can do is not buy Saudi Oil. Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan were the two countries most involved with Al-Queda. We invaded one and are allies with the other. wacko.gif

Accoring to the report

The document says a student who provided al-Mihdhar and Alhazmi with financial help, Omar al-Bayoumi, "had access to seemingly unlimited funding from Saudi Arabia".
If you give funding to terrorist organizations which Saudi Arabia admits to doing you are a terrorist country. Bush said "You're either with us or against us." I guess it only applies to dirt-poor countries not our allies that hate us.

Saudi Arabia isn't our ally. Look at what happened during the recent war or, errr, I mean "liberation" of Iraq. Saudi Arabia wouldn't let us use their soil as a base of operation.

I also agree that it's a pretty big coincidence that the majority of the high jackers were from Saudi Arabia... whistling.gif Without rehashing the other posters have said, I just chime in an, "I agree."

I also think that since Mecca is in Saudi Arabia, it's an obvious magnet for Muslim radicals and terrorist to come and comune with one another.

It is a coinencidence but that doesn't mean that Al-Queda didn't recruit them without Saudi Royal knowledge

But it is kinda desturbing with this: 16 Arrested in Saudi Arabia with Plot

How can you miss 16 terrorists in your country?

We were attacked by Saudis using Saudi oil money. They are the largest supporter of terrorism against America. Why didn't we even criticize their government for nothing about it? When I get old enough to drive I'm not buying oil from gas stations that use Saudi oil.

That would involve almost every gas station in America Rancid whistling.gif

For starters, we should get all our troops and equipment out of Saudi Arabia, and leave nothing behind, not even the runways. Re-establish all of it in Iraq, and promise to remove it all once the country is stable and progressing down a path of representative government, without a King, Dictator, or Ayatollah. I don't think we really need a ground presence in the middle east after that.
IMO the biggest fear that the Saudis have is that a democratic type government will be established in Iraq, and that the people will like it, and the "disease of democracy" will spread to other Arab countries. Think domino effect.
Internal dissent, revolution, the whole gamut could occur. Ultimately, maybe even seperation of church and state throughout the region? Or is that too much to hope for?

This is a very thoughtful action, Ranciduncle. I want to join your boycott. Can you tell me where you got the information about which oil is from Saudi Arabia? flowers.gif

cool.gif Let's see...

16 arrests mean that 16 alleged terrorists were arrested.

We missed at least 19 prior to 9/11.

Considering the population of a nation, discovering a handful of people who are plotting a crime had to involve a lot of effort.

Saudi Oil Boycott Here's a link, I think the boycott has something to do with American women being held against their will in Saudi Arabia.

Rancid Uncle,
I find you title very offensive. As an Italian I am also oily, does that make me evil? Just kidding. I believe that these reports should be declassified and Saudi Arabia bombed when we find out the truth.
