On his radio show, The Savage Nation, Ridiculously Conservative talk show host Michael Savage is musing with an attempted run for California Governor, what do ya think?

I voted extremist.
The guy is WAY too vocal of a critic of those he disagrees with to be a credible candidate. He would simply drive off voters towards the Democrats.

This guy is definitely a whack job. I voted extremist, he does more harm than good for conservative causes by flapping his soup coolers.
EDITED TO ADD: This is a reminder that sometimes we post to fast without looking at which forum we're posting, even mods.....ooops.

Um, DTOM - when did you become a Republican?
This forum is for declared Republicans only.

I too voted too extremist. I hated his TV show, don't care for him at all and he sure wouldn't be good for California.

I think Mike Savage is an extremist. On national television, he made a very anti-gay statement that will come back to haunt him at whatever he does. This will effect any chance of getting into any office of power in the gov't

NO. DECLARED REPUBLICANS ONLY.

He is an extremist, but I wonder what is worse, an extremist conservative? or a democrat? Hmmm
If he were to run, he'd gaurantee a democrat to get elected. With the "I hope you get AIDS and die" comment, you really think he'd get many votes in Cali?

Good grief CP

,
Savage? He's like Wally Grorge (who we love in our own way) and Bill O'rielly. You know? Cuckoo and don't know it. We do however need a serious conservative in the Governors office, ASAP. I voted other, because I think: No, because I want Issa or MCclintock. Where are you from CP

?

Heck no, he's so far out there he looks ultra-right to me, and I'm one of the original Goldwater conservatives*. Aside from that he is deliberately the opposite of diplomatic, the radical right version of Howard Stern.
(*though I only accept being called a conservative with either "libertarian" or "Goldwater"in front of it, and conservative libertarian would be more accurate that libertarian conservative).

I don't know if you've noticed, but I don't think there are as many Republicans registered in AD as there are votes in this thread topic. Have the Libs been in here voting??? Probably.

I Know it is irrelevant because the papers are in and he isnt in the 130 something names on the ballot. but that aside,
I voted other. as much as i like mike savage, he would do nothing but split the vote, and drive the semi-liberal voters towards the Democrats or Green party.
I think the best choice for governor is Tom mclintock (pardon the spelling), though he will need a lot more publicity to have a chance against Arnold.
Back on subject, i am glad that Mike savage decided not to run. but i do agree with his platform of Borders, Language, and Culture protection. though the media would tear him a new one for his tendency to speak his mind.

I voted extremist.
Savage like Rush like Dean...they are ALL extremists. Imo
Many Dems seem to be under the impression that "registered Republican" equates to supporting every right-wing Ayatollah to hook up a website or radio show with an R after his or her name.
I detest extremism of ANY kind. from right wing to left wing to the ELF who blow up
SUV's in SoCali.
So, yah, Savage, while entertaining, would never get my vote.

An update: whien I posted on this thread before I hadn't heard Mike Savage's show. Now I have, and I find I enjoy it enormously. Savage is definitely way out there, but also very intelligent and very entertaining, to me at least. That he gives me a lot to disagree with is one factor in that. But still, entertaining talk radio is his niche, not politics. It'd take a very hard core conservative district to elect him, and there is no state in the union that would elect him statewide.

I agree, I enjoy listening to him, however he just isn't a politician, I do agree with him on several issues though [I.E. boarder control/illeagal aliens].
