I found this one, has an interesting "diamond" chart at the bottom of each elected officials "issues" page to place where they are politically. Seems to be non-partisan, but who can tell nowadays.

Not exactly a debate issue, but who has other good sources of info, or sites, similar to this?
(Prefer to have the sites non-partisan )

FYI - I moved this to Casual Conversation. If there is no question to debate, a new thread doesn't belong in the debate forums. flowers.gif

That site is very informative. Thanks for the link.

Unfortunately the link to the survey (on govote.com) is broken, and then the survey itself is broken after the defense/foreign affairs questions. Sloppy website maintenance all around.

This site is relatively new but holds the potential for becoming extremely useful: Government Information Awareness

Their "Context" section pretty well describes their goal:
QUOTE
As the government broadens internal surveillance, and collaborates with private institutions to access data on the public, it is crucial that we maintain a symmetry of accountability. If we believe the United States should be a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people" it is of central importance to provide citizens with the power to oversee their government. At least as much effort should be spent building tools to facilitate citizens supervising their government as tools to help the government monitor individuals.

Looks like a good one in the making, and I especially liked the James Madison quote that I will paste here.

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own governors, must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives. A popular government without popular information or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy or perhaps both."
- James Madison (Fourth President of the United States)

I like this. This would come in handy when elections come around so voters can see where the choices stand on issues.

Very very good indeed Bill flowers.gif

This isn't really a site but I'm sure there's something resembling information there: Report of the Joint Inquiry into the Terrorist Attacks of 9/11 Anyone up for a little light reading? wink2.gif

I'm not sure if it fits the bill for this thread, but I thought it was a good link and ought to be shared.

WARNING: that link opens a very large .pdf document (858 pages).
