There are so many different Christian churches that spin off from one another over what I perceive to be trivial issues and it seems that these isues get blown way out of proportion. When I was a kid, I saw our congregation split down the middle over something that seemed lame to me, but as a 12 year old I didn't dare speak up.
Core values are the important issues, the ones that, according to the teachings of Christ, are essential. The words of other Biblical writers, IMO, must not conflict, and in all issues the words of Christ should trump the words of others.

Question to debate, What are the core values of Christianity?

Matthew 19:16-19 "And behold, one came to Him and said, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?" And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments." He *said to Him, "Which ones?" Matthew 22:36-40 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And He said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. "The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."
