Well, science in itself is not really anything but a way to work with i guess the world, reality. Besides that you have humans, so you get atomic bombs and space shuttles.
Like most things i think it takes regulations to make sure no mad scientists or madman gets thier hands on some particle beam

or something along those lines. Not to long ago i was playing an online game with about 40 chinese people, thats pretty cool.

Many of the technological, medicinal, and other advances in science are beneficial. However, I think that sometimes we take our technology too far (lame example, but...those laser locks...the ones that have a little remote to open them). Sometimes, our so called "advanced" technology, while frequently beneficial, can also lead to laziness (like said laser locks....it only takes 5 seconds more to spin a combination or turn a key). In that way, I think science can be detrimental to society. But overall, I'm glad we have the things we do, and we can thank science for them.

uh huh... science is beneficial. i mean without science i'll not have my beloved lap-top and fridge!
however, the good points of science is not that great when you compare it with all the damage it do to our world.

First of all, let's remember that science and technology are not the same thing at all. Therefore, we need to consider them one at a time. (This is not to deny that science and technology are often of great benefit to each other.)
Science -- which I define here as a continuing method of developing an increasingly accurate model of the universe through a process of observation, prediction, experimentation, and so on -- seems to me to be purely beneficial. It's hard to imagine a reason why you would want a less accurate model of the universe.
Technology -- which I define here as manipulation of the environment through application of physical means other than those inherent in the body -- can, of course, be harmful or helpful. On the whole, however, I would say that technology has been more of a boon to humanity than a hindrance.
It may be true that there are problems which cannot be solved by the proper use of science and technology; however, they are more likely to solve most problems than any other methods.
