Rather than just going around and looking at people's affiliation I just thought I'd let it be put all together in this poll.

If you wish to remain private, than just don't explain your choice.

I chose "None" because I can't seem to find a party that has everything I like. Really, I don't know what I like! That's why I'm moderate, because I keep swaying back and forth on issues! wacko.gif

I am a Republican.

Although I am a bit disappointed about the lack of fiscal responsibility in Washington, I am hoping (praying, really) that the GOP gets its act together.

I'm registered Republican and have been for 20 years, although I'll be honest and say that I don't agree with about 60% of their platform. However, I'd say I agree with them on more than I would any other party, but I really don't fit into any category.

No party affiliation, never have. Keep 'em guessing!
Billy Jean
Democrat here. The party of FDR, the man who saved America from the Great Depression and the world from fascism. The party of the people. happy.gif

tchnically member of the CPUSA, though I tend to consider myself a little "c" communist (meaning I follow no real party line, but follow the ideals of communism.)

What AuthorMusician said.

I'm a Republican, though I do side with the libertarians on many economic issues, as well as some social ones.

I am a member of the British Labour party, which I guess makes me a socialist, though not a "Socialist" for the purposes of the poll here.

NB IMO, as it's a proper name, the "u" should be included when referring to it in the USA. By all means talk about "organized labor" or "the labor movement", but when you mention the party led by Tony Blair, or UK governments formed from that party, please say "Labour".

It's just a pet hate of mine. I dislike it as much when people insist on spelling my name with an 'e' instead of an 'a' even after they've seen how I do it.

...and created social security which will soon ruin our nation.

Fact: Social Security payments represent 1/3 of the budget.
Fact: Once all the baby boomers retire, there will be 3 workers for every person drawing social security income.
Fact: Not even 5 years ago this ration was 27:1

Implication: Even if, in 20 or 30 years, we were spending the entire budget on social security, workers would have to pay 9 times as much social security tax as they do now.

Thanks Democrats.

The Democratic Party may have social security, but the Republicans freed the slaves.

Oh, and that 'party of the people' stuff is bull. Don't forget the fact that special interest groups like AFL-CIO, Farmers Association of America, and the NAACP pull many strings in the Democratic Party. So farmers (read: corporate farmers) get farm subsidies at the expense of the middle class.

Free trade. Free Markets. Free People.

Republican for life.

Had to say Libertarian because that's where my heart is, even though I vote Republican more often.

Nicholas van Rijn for President! biggrin.gif
