A jury decided Wednesday that Rolf F. Rathmann, former head of Pride St. Louis, knew a teenage boy was under the legal age of 17 when they had sexual encounters on four occasions last year at Blue Bird Park in Ellisville.
St. Louis Post-Dispatch 08/20/2003How is a story such as this one going to impact the culture war?

I doubt it will carry any impact. Incidences such as these aren't uncommon for homosexuals or heterosexuals. While the men involved are indeed guilty of a crime, there was no malice involved, and there is still the fact of the teen being a willing participant. It's unfortunate for Pride St. Louis to have one of the men affiliated with their organization, but it is in no way a reflection of their values and goals.

What do you mean by "culture war"?

Um, yeah... "culture war"?
A guy made a stupid mistake; nothing more, nothing less. I fail to see why this should impact anyone other than the parties involved.

It isn't like the guy went out and purposely started looking for young boys. While it's technically illegal, most people have had sex by the time they're 17 and we're not screaming about that.
Probably will have little or no impact on anything.

Its impact will be small in comparison to the massive scandal in the Catholic church. The Church didn't make any friends with this.
