Hey I am new here, but I am on other boards on the internet. Some of you might recognize me from Hannity's board, or Scully's (bobcat0116). I work at a news station here at Ohio Univeristy, so I am around the people who make the graphics and stuff all the time. Now don't get me wrong when I say this - I love FNC, but I think the alert thing on Fox News is used way too much. Its like crying wolf, they play it around 30 times an hour even when there is little breaking news. I think now i am immune to it. It used to give me goosebumps when I heard it cause I would have no idea what the breaking news was, but now they use it for daily press conferences and stories that I would not consider "breaking". What do you guys all think?

I am in complete agreement with you here. For me, the Fox News Alert does nothing.

For those of us who watch the news like it is an addiction, every story is an alert.

Fox is riddled with alerts and breaking news. Some of these stories are 2 hours old or more. After two hours, a story has broken, and the alert is over. But they have to keep us Americans with our short attention spans interested.

I can, however, understand from where Fox is coming. Believe it or not, a lot of people only watch a few minutes of news each day. Fox wants to make sure that those who just tuned in are on top of the hottest stories of the day.

As I've always said: 24 hour news, five seconds at a time.

But I've got to go -- there's a new Fox News Alert.

I have the same feeling about this. USA always tells the misunderstanding report to public about China, so many American misunderstand China. They always think how terrible Chinese live in China, but it's not true. USA don't like the Chinese government and hate the socialism, but she can't mislead the public opinion about China and force to strength her opinion to China. Because every country has their own situation and history. They can choose the correct way which suit the their counties' development by themselves. Others can't learn the true situation exactly. The time can prove all things. Which is wrong and which is correct are decided by the history. USA should report Chinese stuff objectively. Don't cheat Americans and tell the truth to public.

I know two people who have visited China (on seperate trips) about
two years ago.

They both had good things to say about your country. They said it was very beautiful there. They found the Chinese people to be very friendly.

A couple of things they thought were not so good is that the newspapers were censored and they were not free to go anywhere they wanted.

They found big sections cut out of the newspapers that were at their hotels.

Also, they think your government censors the news that is allowed into your country. I think this must be true, or you would know that most Americans do not feel unfriendly toward the Chinese. I live in a city that has a big university and we have many Chinese students that are treated just like anyone else.

I hope you keep coming back to Americasdebate so we can learn more about China.
