I am hearing a lot of conflicting views on this "war on terriorism." It appears we have a problem with terrorism. For those of you who may NOT believe this to be so, you can either "pretend" it is so, or simply not respond to this thread.

This thread is NOT to address American Foreign Policy, the war with Iraq or issues we may or may not have with the present administration.

It is simply to find constructive ways to address the problem we face now (in the US) and for the future.

POINT 1 One point of view says we 'need to protect our borders.' Ok, how? Let's develop, if we can, some specifics. Canada and mexico line our borders. What more than already in place can be improved, changed ?

POINT 2 The new Patriot Act is seen by some, as the start of the "Police State" and end of American freedoms. Ok, should we not have a patriot act at all? Is there anything in the Patriot that would actually HELP in fettering out those who wish to kill Americans or should the whole Act itself be dropped?

POINT 3 There is a push in California to allow illegal aliens drivers licenses. Is this a good idea? Should more states adopt this policy? Would it have any affect on terrorism at all?

Pick any one or all of these points.
