My son came home yesterday and said some famous guy Robert Palmer died.
He had no clue who he was. I told him his most famous song is Addicted to Love.
He said oh I heard the song.
I heard that Palmer has just completed a Cd, but don't know when it will be out.
I am sorry to say that the only song I know of that he did was Addicted to Love.
So I guess that would be why my son would have no clue who he was.
My question is, what if any other songs was he famous for?
I know there are a few musicians in this forum and would love to know what other songs he made. And if I heard them played.

I know of one other famous song, but I'm not sure of the title.
It goes like this:

oh mercy mercy me
oh things aint what they used to be no
radiation under ground and in the sky....

(those are some of the lyrics)

It's a song about the environent, a very good song.

The famous MTV video will stick in my mind whenever
I hear Addicted to Love.

This is actually the classic song "Mercy, Mercy Me (The Ecology)" by Marvin Gaye, which dates all the way back to 1971. Maybe Palmer did a re-make?

He also did a remake of "bang a gong" and one other hit, on the tip of my tongue. It was actually bigger than "addicted to love" darnit LOL

I'll miss him, too. He had a lot of style. One of the characters on Ally McBealwas going through a divorce in the story and had his own "Palmer Girls" as an entourage when he came to work at the law office. It was fun.
