Hugo
From a recent study debunking the French paradox

QUOTE
The apparent benefits of drinking wine may not be in the wine at all. People who opt for a glass of wine after work may already be smarter, happier and more well adjusted than their beer-drinking friends, say Dr. Erik L. Mortensen from the University of Copenhagen, in Denmark, and colleagues. Wine drinking in general was associated with higher parental education, socioeconomic status and IQ. The average IQ of beer drinkers was 95.2 compared with 113.2 for wine drinkers the investigators found (and beer drinkers more likely to abuse alcohol and drugs).

So the ole wine snobs are trying to say they are wealthier, smarter and better educated. I need to see a few more studies here. This is alcohol-ism.

Hugo, you're in luck!

It just so happens, I've spent the last few years doing my very own independent research of beer versus wine drinkers throughout the continental United States. My results were as follows (don't have a link, sorry):

QUOTE( Beerdrinker's Weekly@ Octoberfest @ last year)
90 percent of beer drinkers are perceived as 'more fun' to the opposite sex than an equal number of wine drinkers

QUOTE( The Bouncing Quarter@Octoberfest @ last year)
Beer drinkers who drank more than six beers per day were self-described as "very successful and happy"

and finally....

QUOTE( Pickin' Up Chicks Quarterly@Octoberfest @ lastyear)
Women describe the average beer man's midrift as 'calming and reassuring'...this was also true for infants. White wine drinkers were primarily known to have bad toupees.
