So by now we have all heard of the statements Rush Limbaugh made about the black quarterback Warren Sapp, saying that the only reason he is being diplayed on TV is because he is black (because apparently there is no such thing as a good black football player). As quickly as he was hired, he was fired and now it seems that the black community has 288 million fingers pointing at them AGAIN.
I have two qestions, preceded by a statement: I don't care if there are white people who think whatever about me because of my skin color (and i live in georgia, if you think racism is over. come here and ASK A RACIST). Just as long as they don't try to stop the progress of the black community. SO here are my questions.
1) Why does it seem that everytime we call someone on a CLEARLY offensive statement we are made out to be the bad guys? Who's the victim here again?
and
2) WHy is it that we are called for "carrying the slavery cross" all the time? Speaking as a southerner(because that is all I CAN speak for), racism is EVERYWHERE. And it seems we have to fight as a group to keep it from spreading. If you don't think so, consider this: the NAACP just lost a Supreme Court case this summer of a teenager BURNING A CROSS on a black man OWN premises, because it was consider a right to free speech. Do you really think race tensions are over? Someone please answer the questions for me!
