Since our presidents taking of office he has been sure to show support for the Christian rights agenda in the u.s. An agenda that is bent on destroying separation of church and state at various levels, such as secular education being changed in public schools, which is just starting with his education act, to just overall federal spending of money giving to Christian organizations. The money goes to a list of organizations that are all Christian, some of these organizations belong to Pat Robertson, who is also a major opponent to separation of church and state, and whom routinely states that the founding fathers were all Christians. many of the Christian rights advocates are now receiving positions in the government under the guise of "faith based" programs.
To get down to what i am really getting at is this. Does the republican party represent Americans, or just some of them, or is it that the Christian right is systematically making strides to use the republican party as a vehicle for their un American agenda.
Bush’s proposal calls for nearly 80 billion dollars to go to these organizations over a ten year period, is this republican or something else?
Is the Christian right a true menace to Americas freedoms and ideals, should people be made aware of these nefarious activities that are being condoned by our elected leaders?
