Edited to add: AMLORD ANSWERS MY QUESTION BELOW. I'M ALL SET biggrin.gif

When I log onto AD, the first thing I want to see is where people have added replies onto topics that I have posted on.

I haven't found an easy way to do this.

Is there an easy way to bring up a list, in the same format as the "View New Posts" list, of topics where you have posted in the past?

To me, it would be ideal to have a list of threads you have participated in, sorted by last update, and showing who made the most recent post (just like the "View New Post" does).

Wouldn't that be a very convenient way to bring up activity on threads you care about?

I'm aware of the "show all posts by user" option. It is nice to have, but isn't very convenient for the purpose I'm describing.

I'm also aware of the "track this topic" option. That's a great feature too, but again doesn't lend itself well to the situation where you are just sitting down in front of the computer and want to see activity on threads you've posted to.

Is there a feature I'm missing? Does anyone else think this would be helpful?

When you use "Track this Topic" is subscribes you to that thread.

You can view all of the threads you have marked as "tracked" by Clicking on the "My Controls" link at the top of the screen, then click "View Topics".

I'm not sure if there is something else you want...

Of course, you would need to subscribe to every thread you posted in.

Thanks, Amlord. That's what I was going to suggest. smile.gif

Just a note - you may set your controls to automatically subscribe to every thread in which you post by following Mike's instructions in this thread: Automatic Subscription.

THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!! flowers.gif flowers.gif flowers.gif flowers.gif

That does exactly what I was looking for.

Is it possible to subscribe to a topic and NOT get email whenever it is updated?

No, it isn't possible at this time. It may be a feature at some point in the future, but we have little influence over what gets added and what doesn't. wink.gif

It may help to look along the left side of any forum (when viewing the active topics).

Mike: I've seen the "dotted" envelopes before, but they don't seem to act as you say they do.

The topic I'm posting to right now shows the "undotted" envelope under active topics, even though I've posted in it.

Am I misunderstanding you? hmmm.gif
Mike
You're understanding correctly.

I wonder if it has something to do with cookies.

I'm not too sure on this one... huh.gif

Could be. I've got some Norton Internet Security stuff running that seems to cause some functionality problems on some sites. No big deal, though. I'm thrilled with the combination of the "View Topics" link under "My Controls" combined with your "automatic subscription" instructions that Jaime posted. This gives me exactly what I was looking for. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
Mike
Yep, it's definitely Norton Internet Security.

You may run into other problems if cookies aren't enabled. They're used to mark posts as read, mark new posts, keep you logged in, and probably a few more things of which I am not aware.

If you do decide to allow cookies and it works, please let me know.
