Some groups of people believe there will be race wars in America. Racist people think there will be a war. Religious people have seen or dreamed that this will happen. People that are spiritual (non-religious) have also seen, dreamed or was told by their spirit guides that there will be race wars in America. I work in a prison as a guard I have seen the indoctrination of inmates by other inmates into hating an other race. This is a population of people that don't think like the rest of us. They do believe they have the right to hurt you ,steal from you, lie to you, and you DON'T have the right to stop them. I at first believe that a race war in America wouldn't be possible after watching the inmates I see the seeds of race war being possible. Gangs in prison are formed by race and they don't stop in just the prison. They actively recruit in the city's that they are released to.

Race wars in America? Well, why do you think that is going to happen in America, our country is not Iraq or China. And I don't think the government is going to ignore that if the war breaks out.

AmericanLeader I'm just saying that due to the prison influence a percentage of our population is completely racist. At the present time they are more interested in living a criminal lifestyle, however, if there is a natural disaster ,or anything that could cause anarchy these people will influence people who are frightened and looking for what would appear to be strong leadership. Do you remember the black guy that was dragged to death by three white guys? All three were inmates that were released back onto the streets. My point is the possibility is there for race wars. Inmates have race riots all the time in prison you just don't hear about it unless someone is killed or it lasts longer than 24 hrs. These inmates aren't rational. They do get out on parol or they serve their sentence and get out. They are still part of the prison gang and are used by them to run drugs , perform hits, run extortion rings , and run prostitution rings. Thats is not all the things they do just a few off the top of my head. If the law enforcement folks can't stop the criminal stuff what makes you think they would be able to stop them from using race to gain control of a city? Police won't patrol after it gets dark in diaster areas. Police claim its a officer safety issue.

Last time I checked thats exactly what we hire them for is to handle dangerous situations.

This nation is described as a melting pot.
This is both a positiv and negative thing:
On the one hand, there is an unimaginable amount of acculteration, and people learn a lot from other's traditions.
On the other, however, there are still the bad eggs. The people who don't tolerate people because of their skin color, the shape of their eyes, the word they use for God, or even the hemisphere their ancestors came from.
I'm undecided as to whether race wars could happen here. I have seen hate crimes... a disturbing amount, as Chicago is not a nice place... but I don't think an open war will occur between differing nationalities. Unfortunately, I just don't know.

In this country I've seen more inter-race "wars" than say, against opposites.
Hispanics against other hispanics in LA, or Asians against other Asians in east San Diego. There are more of the gang related type of incidents than actually one race to another race hatred.
I see and read more of that here in California. I can't speak for the US as a whole, however but based on Tv/news there just doesn't seem to be the prevalence of the type of racism that appears to be growing in Europe. The rise of neo-nazism, arab hates crimes against jews, hate crimes against sub saharan immigrants, against eastern europeans and so on.

Shouldn't that then be 'in race' wars?
I don't believe that there will be any race wars in America. From over here it seems as if America is becoming a far more homogenous society... and although such societies have been known to fragment before, I don't think America will, simply because I feel that the majority of people, through out the western world, but especially in America, no longer look upon 'race' as a political factor.
I think culture and nationality still play a role, but I don't see these presenting the sort of hysterical outrage that manifested itself in previous era's with regards to race.
Though, I could be wrong...

A race war is possible depending on a crisis and that alone. It would take some great and chaotic event to rouse such an act or rebellion. I believe in about 50 years or so down the road such a crisis could occur that just may be ground shakeing enough to ignite such a flame. but only time can tell, people and moral change in time, we will see
I cannot see anything that could come close to starting a “race war”. We have enough enemies outside our country and I believe there is an American spirit that rises above all differences including race.
Yes we will have the same problems that we have seen here and abroad but this country is to much of a melting pot for it to go far. Certainly nothing like what happened in Rwanda could happen here.

What an ominous insight, remember the LA riots were, at least in part, racially motivated. I do believe that race riots are still a very real threat to domestic security I'm just not sure that the wolf is at our door, at least not yet. Riots can be started by anything from a championship game to a percieved injustice. I don't think the lines of race have been drawn clear enough to facilitate an all out race war. Your concerns are well founded though and no small cause for concern.

No, I doubt there will be race wars in America. We've come too far to degenerate to that level.
However, I believe racial tension will continue until we decide to create policies that treat races equally (i.e. no more affirmative action).
