I know several people (and that is saying a lot in my small rural area) who have been long time members of the Democratic party but who are leaving it because of the persecution of the health food industry. Why are we passing laws to save us from ourselves? Who has the right to say how many vitamins we can take or the potency? Who can tell us that herbs are bad for us but then force us to immunize our children or force them to take medicine that causes more harm than good? Remember the children that were court forced to take Ritalin and then from it developed tourette's Syndrome or other long term effects that are just coming to light? Why are we in cahoots with one type of health care and not the "people's health care"? I think that I heard on television news recently that doctors and hospitals are the 4th leading cause of death in our country but yet, we want to regulate herbs and vitamins and other alternative health care! I am aghast at Hillary Clinton and the bill she is proposing. It makes me sick that they are taking away our rights and for the first time, I understand why people look for a party that is less invasive in our personal lives. We can afford this kind of health care but once they get involved, it won't be affordable and small businesses with integrity will be closed. Yes, I am ranting but the thought that we could be like Canada in supplements just scares me. My husband was told he needed surgery by a doctor but with less than $20 of alternatives, he was healed and never had the problem again. My daughter was scheduled for surgery when an alternative doctor recommended a plan that totally reversed her condition and she never needed the surgery (7 years ago). This is just crazy! Americans go to Canada for cheaper drugs and Canadians come to the U.S. for cheaper vitamins and herbs. They are treating us like we are spam inside of a white bread sandwich and they want the biggest bite they can get of us!
