Can someone tell me the advantage of granting drivers licenses to persons that are here illegally? I have heard much of the reasons why it's a bad idea, but there are some who are saying that it will lessen the hit and run accidents in CA.

I don't think it is fair that anyone who is here illegally and not playing by the same entry rules as other immigrants should be granted a major piece of ID because they work here.
