PRO: A human fetus is a person and has a constitutional right to life. the procedures used in partial-birth abortions are barbaric and immoral and should be banned. such abortions are the same as murder. american leaders must cultivate a society that values every life, including those most vulnerable.

CON: Women have a constitutional right to make their own reproductive decisions, as the supreme court has ruled. partial birth abortions are rarely and only when the mother or fetus is at risk. antiabortion crusaders are using this issue as a wedge to ultimately make all abortions illegal.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

The age old debate rages on. Well, something isn't right because the sheer amount of abortions today are basically becomming a form of birth control. I believe the woman should be the one that makes the choice however, one could ALSO make the case the woman MADE the choice when she decided to to sleep with Joe Blow and concieve a child. BTW This isn't about rape and incest...those abortions are the exception rather than the rule anymore.

The answer is basically..I don't know. Personally I can't see where the woman has the right to be judge, jury and executioner and the baby no right to due process. I guese the only way around that little problem is to say it isn't a baby till it's born. IMHO there should be a court to deal with this on a case by case basis. We have ENTIRELY too much disregard for life in this country anymore on the basis of "it'll cramp my style".

I agree; there are two many abortions performed because the pregnancy is inconvenient. Abortions are increasingly being used as "birth control."

My concern with the legislation that was passed is that it made no provision for those circumstances where the mother's life is threatened if the pregnancy is carried to term.

Obviously there are challenges that are going on now. This issue is far from over.
