This thread will be devoted to word games.

The first challenge involves anagrams, which are words that can be rearranged to form other words. Example: GOD can be rearranged to read as DOG. This works in phrases, as well. MARGARET THATCHER can be rearranged to read as THE GREAT CHARMER.
Note: There may be more than one possible answer, and in this particular list, I am looking for single words and not phrases.

2. Backward = drawback.
These are hard!
Let me repeat a challenge I left on the Brain Teasers thread some time ago. I'm thinking of the full name (first and last name) of an old-time Hollywood actor. The full name alternates consonants and vowels, and it contains each of the vowels A, E, I, O, and U exactly once each. Those of you who know me should know that this person appeared in the type of films I like. Who is it?
I'll even give you the pattern of the name.
FIRST NAME: Consonant-vowel-consonant-vowel.
LAST NAME: Consonant-vowel-consonant-vowel-consonant-vowel.

Wertz and everyone, I mistakenly included politics even though the only words that can be made from it are medical terms. Meant to slash that from the list
psilotic is the word, btw...bet you don't hear that one everyday, eh?

the other is a medical term that is probably NOT approriate for AD so I'll just let you look it up using an anagram maker if you really need to know...
Good job, everyone!

I wish to propose a game of Word Golf, invented by no less than Lewis Carroll. You start with two words which have the same number of letters. By changing one letter at a time, you change the first word into the second word. At each step of the game, the resulting new word must be a real word in the English language. Here is an extremely simple example:
Change DOG to CAT in three steps:
DOG
COG
COT
CAT
Most games of Word Golf are not so simple. Here is the shortest way I have found to change BUSH to GORE, in six steps:
BUSH
LUSH
LUST
LOST
LOSE
LORE
GORE
Can you find a shorter way?
The challenge: Change BUSH to DEAN (or the other way around.) I have found a way to do this in seven steps. Can you find a shorter way?

although the 'a' changes to an 'e' the 'o' sound stays the same (unless you think the plural should be pronounced 'wimmin' in which case gets some elocution lessons...

Point of information: In the United States the plural of woman is pronounced "wimmin." Those are a lot of elocution lessons you are suggesting.
