Full Version: Is this approved?
Several of my friends are doing reports in school and the subjects are here. Can they come here and use facts and links provided by posters. Want to know before i can tell. The reason im posting this is because some people MAY have similar problems.
As long as you don't solicit help in doing your research, it should be fine.
I am sure you can find a wealth of information from the posts here. Just don't ask another to write your report for you. Also, quoting from this site in such a paper might be against the ToS.

Amlord has covered most of it. I will reiterate that we will close/remove any posts or topics that say "I am doing a report/homework/etc, could you help me..."
ALL members no matter who they are are required to follow the Rules.
If you find a useful link or article on the forum, cite away. If you cite any posts of members of this forum, please give that member the proper credit for their hardwork. For bibliography purposes I would suggest citing the forum at which you found the post (AD), the name of the member you are citing, the post category, the title of the topic, and the date and time of the specific post. If you could add a URL, I would.

Nope, it's no violation.
We welcome students to read and participate here. I'd like to think we offer them a good deal of insight and information from nearly all sides of any given issue.
We just ask that students don't ask for specific help-- the site's official position is that students should do their own homework
