I show up as anonymous. Then I try to log out and re log in and I stay logged in. Then I clear my cookies and sometimes that works and lets me log in without the privacy but the next time I log in I go back to anonymous and I actually did not log out. Oh I always hit the don't remember me button because my niece uses my computer and I don't want her posting under my name smile.gif Oh the other weird thing is now my pages don't refresh when I click a link (not using the back button). Say I click on home I have to refresh the page myself. If I click on a topic it only shows what I read earlier, I have to refresh the page to see the new posts. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it my computer??? Am I going mad???
Any help?
Thanks!

For the Appear Anoymous feature i think it might be helpful to tell the Admins Mods or Commitee members if you clicked this button. >>Privacy, do you want to appear on the active users list? << check and see. If you did it should report anoymous.

If it is still there...reply here and mike jaime mods or commitee members will respond ASAP

Also sometimes my pages dont refresh. Im guessing it is only refreshing at the PC where you read the topic. Just a guess though.

Hi dreampiper. smile.gif This is definitely a question for Mike, so please hang in there with us until he has a moment to step in and try to help. flowers.gif

No I am not clicking the box, therefore that should mean I am on the active user list not anonymous, right? Like now I logged off, got your response via email, and tried again, I logged on did not check the box and here I am anonymous. This time though when I logged off it worked. I always use this computer (I work from home) so it can't be from going to other computers. Oh the other weird thing is when I log on now, I go straight to a topic, even though I wasn't in one? hmmm.gif

All of these weird things only started happening this wk. I'm thinking it's a bug on my end but was curious if anyone else was having this problem. If it's overall then we will know.

Mike, this is certainly livable, so don't ruin your holiday by looking into it right away, I can wait. flowers.gif

Everyone else, If you see anonymous its probably me!

Thanks!
Mike
Hmmm... hmmm.gif

I think that these are browser issues. sad.gif I'm hoping that my fix for the second problem will fix the first. wink.gif There are a few things that come to mind on this one...

Jaime has this problem from time to time using Mozilla Firebird. Assuming you're using Internet Explorer like 90% of the people out there, try this:

At the top in Internet Explorer, click Tools->Internet Options->Settings (by Temporary Internet Files)

Check for newer versions of stored pages?... is usually set to "Automatically" by default. The problem is that, like most of Internet Explorer, this feature is buggy. Click "Every visit to the page" to force Internet Explorer to look for a new copy of the page for every request.

Additionally, while you are in there, I would drastically reduce the amount of disk space to use for temporary internet folders. If you have a big hard drive, it is probably currently set in the hundreds of megs, if not gigs. Move it down to about 50 megs, and your browser will spend less time checking your hundreds of megs of files on your local computer and more time downloading the actual page you requested.

That's a good one... hmmm.gif

If you are viewing a topic and are told to log in, or hit the 'log in" button while viewing a topic, it should take you back to that topic. However, if you are viewing the board index, it should just take you right back to the board index.

I suspect this is caused by your browser, and will hopefully be fixed if you change the cache setting above.

If this doesn't work, let me know which browser and version you are using and I can research this some more. smile.gif

You ROCK!!!

It appears to have worked. When I went to settings I had it checked on never. I bet I hit it by accident when I was cleaning out my cookies and history this wk. My page refreshed, I did not log into a thread, and most importantly I am not anonymous!!!!

So I have not gone mad! Maybe just a little reckless with my mouse?!

Big Thanks and a bouquet of flowers.gif !!!
