From WashingtonPost.com Wednesday, August 7, 2002; 8:24 PM QUOTE
Investigators also targeted Stewart, CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc., after learning that she disposed of nearly 4,000 shares on Dec. 27, grossing approximately $230,000. Stewart and Aliza Waksal share the same Merrill Lynch broker, Peter Bacanovic. Congressional investigators probing the ImClone insider scandal are exploring whether Bacanovic could have tipped off Stewart.
Stewart maintains she simply had an order to sell her stock when it went below $60. But doubt has been cast on that assertion because she and Bacanovic differ on when the order was placed.
So, what do you think? Did Martha Stewart use inside information to profit from selling ImClone stock?
I haven't followed this story very closely, but it seems to me that she was likely to have had inside information. The timing of the sell was perfect. But why would Martha risk everything for a measly 230 grand? That's nothing to her.
Anyone?

No. I feel Martha just got caught on the current issue, she didn’t do anything that doesn’t go on daily, but she is famous, and corporate scandal is the “hot idem” so….
Let me clarify though, I HATE MARTHA, her cute little “that’s nice” and “something special” saying give me the chills. I think she sold her sole to the devil for her position today. But still I don’t think she did anything illegal.
Besides if she wanted to make some money she could have had a bake sale or create some using duct tape and bailing wire…

I admit, I'm a fan of Martha's. I have to admit though, sometimes she tries so hard to give people the perception that she's so perfect and well put-together, one has to wonder what she's hiding beneath all those "good things" and "recipe of the day"'s.
It's just a little too fishy for my skeptical self that it was just a coincidence. Maybe Martha herself didn't have anything to do with it, but her stockbroker most certainly did.
I think that even if it was only a measly 230 grand, deep down inside she's greedy and kinda twisted. I mean, come on, who seriously could be that ... perfect?

So Martha Stewart turned in over 1,000 documents to Rep. James Greenwood's House Energy and Commerce investigative subcommittee.
I'd have crumpled them up into little balls and delivered them in trash bags.
But I guess if Congress is occupying it's time investigating Martha Stewart, it's a good thing. At least they're not making any laws.

After that suggestion I’m getting on the phone to my congresswoman (PC) to have her introduce a law saying no person or persons can turn over documents to the senate subcommittees that are crumbled into little balls. Now I’m the whistle blower…you’ll be sorry Mike.

Martha, if she did anything wrong, should be prosecuted. If not, leave the crazy bitch alone.

Do you think people realize that Martha is a hard core democrat? Democrats don’t cause corporate scandals, only republicans do. Maybe the feminists groups have it out for her because she teaches hot to make sandwiches and crochet. I just don’t think people know she’s a dem…doesn’t she live across the lake form the Kennedy compound?

Martha may be a innocent, but if she would come out with a statement in person and quit with all the hiding behind lawyers she would be better off.
She gives at least the impression of guilt by her actions.

I wonder how she became so famous to begin with. and I for one will not buy her products at K-mart at a price that is doubled just because it has her name. It is like yrs. ago when every kid in america wanted Guess jeans. I told my kids why are you willing to pay 50-60 dollars for a pair of jeans with a question mark on it. you are advertising for them free of charge. Excuse me, pay me for advertising your jeans which are in fact a pair of jeans that Lees Levis or whatever is as good as Guess and a whole lot cheaper. People wake up. stop making these people rich when you can get as good or better quailty for less. and you might be able to get 2 for the price of one
