America is leading the way to a global economy - having won the cold war (and incidentally the debate over what a country ought to base it's philosophy on). With its business savvy, and with technology allowing for and speeding up communication, America is likely going to be the central of whatever centralization occurs.
Banking is on its way, and business is practically there.
"Absolute power" may corrupt absolutely, but America (unlike the Soviet Union) is not based upon "absolute power". It is based upon competition.
Without access to the resources that allow for competition, I could see third world countries suffering.
But I don't imagine that Americans will.
Thoughts?
