Well billy bob is at it again. Is this guy so striff for attention that he will break tradition to keep his name in the media? Now he is critizing Bush on his corrupt corparate CEOs crackdown policy. This comes only a week after he slammed Bush in Chicago for his AIDS policy with the great reverand jesse jackson...sarcasm noted? Maybe it's because he is younger then most former Presidents, but he is the first president to critize a current president like this since TEDDY ROOSEVELT. At least Roosevelt had a reason to hold a grudge... what's billy bob's deal?

Billy Bob as you like to call him is the kind of guy who likes being popular. If you think he gives a flying fart about the country, or the issues you are kidding yourself. All “Slick Willie” cares about is himself…he wants everyone knowing where he eats, what he does, and who he’s with…well maybe not who he’s with…
Politics as usual is not the case for Clinton, he just wants to be the “STAR”.
His legacy building is still being built…its being built out of straw, but being built nonetheless.

Well, I figured it would be an afternoon show for sure! Hillary wouldn't let him anyway. Who thinks she is setting up for a future run?

Imogene, I think Hillary is setting herself up for a run in 2008.
It'll have to be as President, because I don't think she wants to be Vice President again.
But seriously, she has said that she won't run in 2004 because she "made a promise to the people of New York". As if that matters at all to her. She's not a New Yorker. She's from the Chicago suburbs. What does she care about New York? I do think she'll keep that promise, though. It's hard to win the White House without New York.
And I don't think Billy Jeff (that's his "southern" name

) will do the talk show. It's been in and out of the media a couple of times since he left office, but I don't really think it's serious. It makes for good copy, and I think/hope that is as far as it will go.

Mikey Whatever,
Are you saying that if I were to make a promise in, say California, I wouldn't be serious about keeping it just because I live in another state?
I think the people of New York do matter to Hillary. After all, they did elect her, fair and square, no Supreme court involved.

No, Madtowny, I think you may have read that the wrong way.
I think that she will keep that promise, because if she didn't, she'd lose a great deal of credibility in New York.
As a Democrat, and a likely candidate on the Democratic ticket, she needs the New York votes in the EC to win.
But I still contend that she doesn't really care about the people of New York; She only cares about the power that they can give her.
I believe the proof is in her remarks to the people of New York immediately after September 11th.
While I can't find the transcript, I believe my memory is fairly in tact. Her comments never once included sympathy for the people of New York. Instead, she focused on rebuilding and on finding the terrorists.
Does she care about the people of New York? No. Does she care about their vote? Yes. Read on:
In 1999, four elected officials in a Jewish community in NY were convicted of stealing about $40 million from the federal student loan, business and housing funds. The freely admit that they did it, and claim it was to benefit "the community."
Well, the leaders of this community invited Mayor Giuliani to visit while his senatorial candidacy was still alive. They promised Giuliani that he would receive their votes if he would work to get their criminal leaders out of prison.
So what happens? Well, in the last few days of the Clinton presidency, these 4 thieves were pardoned. The pardon didn't even hit the DOJ, like pardons are supposed to do.
These four criminals were let out after serving less than a year. They paid no restitution. They stole from me, and never repaid me.
So it looks to me like Hillary "pardoned" her way into earning their votes.
As I said, she doesn't care about NY, she cares about their votes because they bring her the power.
Since this is Republican Debate, I'll add that this is kind of like her relationship to Bill. She doesn't care about him, he just brought her the power.
Not that I fault her or anything, she is the smartest woman in the world. That makes me feel for all the women out there.
Madtowny, I'm surprised you didn't hit me on the "I don't think she wants to be Vice President again" remarks.

Michael,
Politicians ALL do what they have to in order to win. Ford pardoned Nixon. Of course it backfired and cost him a second term, but he became president by agreeing to pardon Nixon.
The criminals cost you money? The Bush Brothers cost you money when they made out in the S & L deregulation.
I didn't mind Hillary being vice pres. at all. Now she has experience!

Madtown or Madtowney Mae?
Hillary found out in a quick hurry just how much practice she needed. Look how the voters, both Dems and Rep., reacted to her health plan. Too bad Billy Jeff didn't let poor Gore be the VP. It might help him.
ALL politicians DO NOT do just anything to get elected. There are ethical lines and Hillary crossed over with buying the votes with a pardon from Billy Jeff.
You do seem to have a problem with the Supreme Court. Odd since it is made up of more Liberals which you seem to be. The founding fathers set the process up that way. So tough
Comparing the Nixon pardon with Billy Jeff’s pardon to BUY Hillary the senate seat is nonsensical. Ford had nothing to gain.

Mike:
You are right about Hillary waiting. As you say, she needs NY. Fortunately I think there are enough "Bubbas" to save us!
