I know there have been a bunch of these, but I think this one is pretty interesting. I like the way they not only let you take a position on each issue (from "strongly oppose" to "strongly support") but it also lets you tell it how important each type of issue is to you (social issues, economic issues, and so on.) One weakness is that it only lists candidates from the two major parties.

I won't list the exact numbers, because they change when I change my answers, but I always have Sharpton and Kucinich in the lead, and Bush last.

My Highest was Kucinich, which suprised me. I guess its because I think gun control should be tighter, and the death penalty should be abolished. I personally support Clark.

I want to know who will get the lowest Bush rating, mine was %22, which is more credit than i give him normally!
Piper Plexed
Thanks that was fun!
lets see Edwards and Kerry at 100% ohmy.gif
Leiberman at 98%
Gephardt at 96%
Clark at 87%
Dean at 84%
Bush at 81%

Sorry Paul not me, Actually I am surprised that Bush didn't score higher! How did I ever score Dean above Bush being that I really can't stand Dean and his hype. GO FIGURE! If actually asked I would have predicted Leiberman to be my first choice for the Demorcratic options. ohmy.gif
amf
Kerry - 100%
Dean - 98%
Gephardt - 97%
Clark - 96%
Sharpton - 94% (uh oh!)

Bush - 27% (makes sense to me!)

I think the poll would be better if it would compare what I selected vs. the candidates instead of the candidates vs. each other. But they didn't ask me.
Izdaari
Bush 100%
Lieberman 72%
Kerry 65%
Dean 65%
Edwards 60%
Clark 59%
Gephardt 53%
Sharpton 52%
Kucinich 40%

Hmm, doesn't sound right to me. The order is right, and I certainly am closer to Bush than to any of the Dems, but my agreement with Bush is substantially less than 100%. This apparently excluded all third party candidates
Dontreadonme
This poll had me aligned with Bush 100%, which worries me a little. But I guess not as much as if it showed me 100% with Kucinich.

But one thing I noticed, for all of the controversy about whether Bush was AWOL from the Air National Guard or not, this site listed Bush as having not served in the military. One would think that a slick site like this could have done their homework and gotten their facts straight.
Hugo
Switch Clark and Kerry and the order of candidates wasthe same as Izdaari's. I too scored Bush 100% which makes absolutely no sense since on many of the questions ,particularly social issues, I disagreed with Bush's stance on the issues.
DreamPipEr
hmmm.gif I never considered myself 100% aligned with Bush. In fact there are many issues that I am opposite of him. Perhaps, though, it leads you to a 100% when comparing you to the other candidates...

Bush 100%
Lieberman 97%
Clark 86%
Dean 83%
Kerry 83%
Edwards 81%
Gephardt 79%
Sharpton 78%
Kucinich 66%

I think I'm going to have to find another test. Was this thing sponsored by the Bush campaign?huh.gif

Given my answers, I have NO IDEA how I was matched to Bush 100%

I followed up with Dean, 91%, Edwards 85% and Kerry 84%. I guess part of the problem is that some of the parties don't have any presidential hopefuls yet. I noticed the only candidates it showed for me were Republicans or Democrats and I'm pretty certain I won't be voting for any presidential candidate from either of those parties.

Thanks anyway, I LOVE political quizzes biggrin.gif flowers.gif
Mrs. Pigpen
I scored 100 percent Clark. I actually favor him slightly, but have some serious reservations....though more serious for the other candidates. Lesser evil, anyone?
Google
Cyan
Edwards 100%
Kerry 99%
Gephardt 95%
Kucinich 93%
Dean 90%
Sharpton 88%
Clark 88%
Lieberman 85%
Bush 52%

This is somewhat accurate for me. I've been considering Kerry and Gephardt the most strongly. I haven't spent much time on Edwards. I guess this gives me a reason to do some research. wink2.gif
kalabus
Mine is as follows

Kerry 100%
Gephardt 99%
Kucinich 97%
Dean 94%
Sharpton 93%
Clark 90%
Edwards 88%
Lieberman 77%
Bush 13%

This is funny considering that I like Lieberman more then the others. I think Sharpton is a racist. I thought I disliked Kerry. I also didnt realize i was so far away from Bush. My endorsement after all that.....Clark
bucket
ha!

I got 100% with Rev. Al Sharpton. I knew I liked that guy for some reason but could never figure out why..and now I know why..we share the same unconscious mind! smile.gif

I wonder if there will be any other Sharpton Doppelgängers?
Desert Resident
Thanks that was fun. The poll hit the nail on the head for me...Bush 100%...now that is no surprise to me, but it was fun to have it confirmed. mrsparkle.gif us.gif
UGA Boy
I must say I am definitely surprised.

Kucinich 100% <-- very surprised
Sharpton 96% <-- not at all surprised
Gephardt 93% <-- very surprised
Kerry 89%
Dean 86%
Edwards 82% <-- very very surprised
Clark 81%
Liebermann 72%
Bush 22% <-- laugh.gif

I think everyone who wants to vote should have to take this test, or atleast do the readings on the President
Beladonna
I didn't understand why the lumped the environment and the economy in the same Overall Opinion category. hmmm.gif

I also think the poll is flawed. I compared my responses to Liebermans and there were distinct differences so I am confused as to how the results are calculated.

Lieberman 100%
Bush 100%
Kerry 93%
Clark 88%
Edwards 85%
Dean 80%
Gephardt 79%
Sharpton 73%
Kucinich 60%

It was a fun poll though.

Yep. I got 100% agreement with Sharpton, which I have in several of these polls. I'm not too surprised, among other things he's the only candidate to support same-sex marriage.

I think that judging only by political views is a mistake, though. Much as I agree with his positions, I strongly disagree with Sharpton's race baiting tactics.

I agree, when I went back and looked at what the site had for the candidate and compared them with my answers I couldn't figure out how I ended up where I did. I should have had a low % for all of them. There are issues that I very strongly disagree with Bush on and there are issues that I strongly disagree with the Democratic party. It would have been nice if they also incorporated the 3rd party hopefuls.

Sharpton - 100%
Gephardt - 98%
Kucinich - 98%
Dean - 94%
Kerry - 94%
Clark - 91%
Edwards - 86%
Lieberman - 78%
Bush - 5%

I noticed that just before showing me the results, it mentioned adding third party candidates after the primaries have concluded, so will have to try again then. I did not like the ranking the relative importance of the issues part - b/c I would rank the economy as medium importance and environment much higher... also, lumping all social issues together was not good either.

I was not really surprised by any of it, except that Edwards came so low on the list - b/c he's usually the one I find myself agreeing with... but maybe it boiled down to the fact everything I agree with I did not put as top priorities - something I think was a flaw in the test.

I was not surprised to get Sharpton 100% as that has been the case in past polls - I do know that I would never vote for him though, because his emphasis on what issues are most important is completely different from me.

As for Bush - well, I knew there was a reason I really don't like him
Looms
Kucinich -- 100%
Dean -- 94%
Gephardt -- 90%
Kerry -- 89%
Sharpton -- 86%
Clark -- 85%
Edwards -- 80%
Lieberman -- 70%
Bush -- 27%

It's overall accurate, except that I would definitely pick Clark over Sharpton, and I also don't see how Lieberman got 70%, I would never even consider voting for him. Unfortunately my number one choice (according to the poll and in actuality) would never get elected.
Juber3
I like this poll! I got

1 Bush Score: 100%

Party Republican
Has Held Elected Office Yes
Served in the Military No
Wertz
I am totally serious: this was my actual score. (I even took a screen shot lest I be doubted - if you want a copy, just PM me!)

1 Kucinich Score: 100%
2 Sharpton Score: 93%
3 Gephardt Score: 91%
4 Kerry Score: 86%
5 Dean Score: 83%
6 Clark Score: 81%
7 Edwards Score: 75%
8 Lieberman Score: 69%
9 Bush Score: 1%

One percent! w00t.gif w00t.gif w00t.gif

I guess that means I win. mrsparkle.gif The only surprises here were that I was in 100% agreement with the garden gnome, that Clark and Edwards were on the lower end - and that there was such a gap between Lieberman and Bush.

It said I favor the Garden gnome.
Nope
can't stand the little bugger. I'd vote for Pat Robertson first.

Bush never got higer than 55%

HAHAHA! I was hoping to be like Wertz and have Bush at 1%! I came close...

1 Kucinich Score: 100% - not surprising

2 Gephardt Score: 94% - quite surprising!

3 Sharpton Score: 91% - not surprising...I don't like the way he goes about things, but he's certainly the most charismatic of the eight Dems left! I like him on the issues though

4 Kerry Score: 88% - he still scares me

5 Dean Score: 86%

6 Edwards Score: 79%

7 Clark Score: 78%

8 Lieberman Score: 63% - why he is listed so far away from Bush I will never know

9 Bush Score: 4% - YAY!

Don't be too surprised, Wertz dear. I guess you've been paying too much attention to the people who've been calling Lieberman a "conservative Democrat" -Bad idea, since he really is a liberal; maybe not your kind of liberal, but a liberal none the less as rated on his Senate voting record by various liberal and conservative rating organizations.

American Conservative Union (conservative): 20% for 2002
Americans for Democratic Action (liberal): 85% for 2002

Just a sample. I've checked several others too and the results were consistent.

It is now clear to me that everyone who takes the test is assigned a 100% score to the candidate that the testmakers feel he is closest aligned to.

Bush 100%
Lieberman 69%
Kerry 52%
Clark 51%
Edwards 51%

Kucinich (my personal Congressman) 28%

The compare feature at the end is great. I didn't know that none of the Dems support parental notification.

Also interesting that the major Dems somewhat favor the No Child Left Behind program.
kalabus
It seems no matter how I choose Kerry ends up at a 100%. I think this is very biased towards Kerry. Its like if its up in the air its automatically Kerry at 100 percent. I have taken it a few times with variances on my answer and everyone changes but Kerry. I will mimic the exacts of certain nominees with only one or two small variances and Kerry is still somehow 100 percent everytime.

I am not a huge Kerry fan.

This poll had me curious, especially with regard to the results. I looked at Bush’s platform according to the poll and found myself disagreeing with their understanding of Bush’s platform. So I decided to do some research. I didn’t look at every one of the items listed, just a couple that jumped out at me.

Religion in Government

The poll says that Bush strongly favors organized prayer in public schools.

I've always understood the term "organized prayer" to mean - to set up an administrative structure for or to persuade to associate in an organization (from Merriam-Webster)

According to the Jewish Bulletin, published during Election 2000, Bush:

Supports prayer in public schools. Wants public schools to allow more religious expression. Supports voluntary, student-led prayer, including a moment of silence for meditation or reflection.

That stance in no way reflects a support of organized prayer and I personally have never heard him make this type of statement. In fact, his stance on the issue wasn’t much different that his 2000 Democratic opponent.

Abortion:

The poll states that Bush strongly supports outlawing abortions except for rape/incest.

This is a true statement and probably has no bearing on results, but for the record, Bush is pro-life with exceptions for rape, incest and endangering the life of the mother.

Also I noted the poll states that Edwards (I was reviewing Edwards platform because he has peeked my interest) strongly opposes The Patriot Act, but in fact he voted for The Patriot Act. If I remember correctly, he was instrumental in the drafting of The Patriot Act. (Don’t quote me on that)
