Given how that sometimes the products that people purchase are insufficient for their needs, my question for debate is should there be a Freedom to design products Act that would permit people to modify any product they purchase in any manner they want so long as it would not be used to perform an illegal action?

This question is a little confusing to me. Perhaps you could provide some examples?
