I was reading another thread, Earliest World Event/Political memory, where I noticed a few references to the moon landing.

It brought to mind a non sequitur that I still laugh about from time to time. A television show was interrupted for a replay of the moon landing on its tenth anniversary. We saw Neil Armstrong step on to the moon and say, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." We were returned to the regular programming just in time to hear them close the program with, "Transportation for some guests was provided by American Airlines."

Does anyone else have a favorite story where two unrelated stories or ads were inadvertently placed in sequence?

Not sure if this works but here goes.
A few years back sitting in a diner at the end of a long run. I was eating dinner but couldn't afford a newspaper. So I was reading the free community sale paper.
Reading thru all of the ads I was looking in the section on motorcyles, you never know what treasures await in someones backyard under an old midewy tarp.
I came across this ad

Wife six months pregnant. MUST SELL 400$ 1970 Kawasaki k1000 whistling.gif

wish I still had that ad. It always cracked me up when I read it. laugh.gif

This was from a commercial I heard on CBS:

QUOTE
Former survivors compete in the ultimate Survivor showdown...

A former survivor would, by definition, be DEAD. Imagine yourself as someone who is learning English and trying to figure that one out. blink.gif

Long ago I heard this about some movie or other:

"Action that literally explodes off the screen!"

Sorry, I don't want to see that movie.

Another time on NPR, the interview talking to a singer said her music was "literally heartrending."

There's an image for you.

Ok, this just happened & I thought I'd share...

I was about to head into the shower, but I thought I'd stop by and catch up on the forum & the news.

I ended up reading a newspaper article to Mike regarding the expansion of the Savannah Hilton Head airport. As I concluded, I started to rise and commented, "It's getting late, I gotta get in the airport..." blink.gif

Heh. So it's all I got, but I like this thread. laugh.gif
