You are supposed to be able to recognise who they are, otherwise how can it be funny - since you dont who who it is imitating? If it didnt
say George Bush I wouldnt know who it was. You think I am too stupid to recognise these "might" just be caricatures

Now this oughta be fun.
Bill O'Reilly doll vs. Al Franken doll, who will be the victor??
Don't jump to conclusions, Franken has on serious tackle ("like a Patriots fullback" I believe...

)
But if they're going to let Castro in, let's have a Chirac doll, complete with his own little headscarf

If you win, I think you get the doll of your choice - so you can pick someone they've even heard of in England.
Also, if any non-US residents
want to participate (and don't have a convenient uncle), I will volunteer my address and phone number should you win and forward the doll to you at my expense. It won't be overnight express - but you'll still be able to take part and claim your prize. Just be sure to tell all your American friends how fabulous the dolls are so we can still drive some business toward
Pinhead's.

I wonder if the winner is interested in sending us funny pictures of voodoo doll antics?
I fervently wish for a copy of photoshop.
This is by the way a serious suggestion. Fellow members could showcase the humor that is so evident in the chats. (Well, okay maybe not
that humor

Well, Amlord, it was a tough decision. There are a lot of great dolls available.
After some thought I decided that I wanted a doll that I could use for many years to come, so I picked the "Republican Elephant".
I have not used the doll yet, I need to look into voodoo spells that won't give me a karmic bite in the butt.

I've got my John Kerry doll in the package still. I'm trying to suffocate him, or at least shut him up for a while.
Did anyone else buy one?

Probably no one cares, but I chose the Supreme Court doll, not to purchase of course, but as a principle. Not the usual selection, and probably not for the typical reasons. I tend to look for the esoteric indicators of one's flawed paradigms. Call me crazy but I don't think that the Democrats are blocking Bush's judgeship confirmations, unless their only reason is to prop up Roe v. Wade (there is a lot of this going on). It is their job to confirm judges, and it is also their job to look into the motivations/paradigms of those candidates. Futhermore, for consistency (with the Constitution) reasons no one wouldn't fault the president for not sending nominations, why fault the congress for not confirming the ones that are sent?
More specifically, I would have chosen voodoo Antonin Scalia. He was heard to say (paraphrased) at a religious gathering (more than a year ago) That if people of religion (guess which one he is referring to) wants to have more religious language and symbolism included in government affairs, they need to have the Congress pass more laws to that effect. This is not a 'caricature', I believe this is the actual jist of what he was saying, although the parenthesis are mine.
Now the question is, is Antonin Scalia retarded? Here is a perfect example of why a judges background and views need to be scrutinized. A rhetorical question, but would any of the employers out there hire a person who didn't know/didn't accept the job description itself? Has Antonin Scalia READ the first Amendment? Do you even need to read it, or do you hear about it all the time? To me, it doesn't matter if he said it outside of his Court functions. This would just indicate he loathes his own job (yet another criteria for rejection) to this very important position.
Why don't they just put out a classified ad in the newspaper for the 'position of Supreme Court Justice'? I'll apply for it. Think about it: job security, you get more respect (including the undue), you can immortalize yourself by writing your name into history.........

QuantumMekanic, this isn't a debate. The topic is for discussing the dolls.
Since you didn't purchase one, "of course," I wonder why you chose to post a lengthy opinion piece in a topic that is not about opinion.
