This is a very general inquiry into the president's environmental rhetoric and policy.

I think this is an important issue that cuts across the political spectrum. How would a libertarian or an anarchist deal with toxic pollution?

The issue of environmental protection raises and sheds led on the related issues of government control, corporate responsibility, and social welfare.

How have President Bush's assults on Clean Air Regulations affected the United States?

How do they fit with classical liberal, libertarian, conservative, or Republican ideals?

Your questions are good examples of the "fallacy of the rhetorical (loaded) question" You either assert something not proven or assume we all agree with your assertion-"When will you stop beating your wife?" or in your case- "How have Bush's assaults...?" I cannot therefore answer your question as phrased. hmmm.gif

However, I can tell you (in short) that in a "libertarian" society, "polluters" could be prosecuted for "trespass" for allowing their "property" (the pollutants) to escape onto the "property" of others and also for any "assualt" or "negligence" resulting in physical harm to people and/or "property." It would be no different than if a truck carrying toxic chemicals crashed into your yard and released it's contents, damaging your property and your health. w00t.gif The driver and his employer and the chemical company could all be liable! thumbsup.gif
