Do you think we should spray pesticides for the mosquitos... I know it is late to be asking though. In school we had to debate on this subject and I said we should. Your comment will be appreciated

I would prefer methods that don't use poison where it might eventually get into me.

Like set up a whole bunch of mosquito magnets.

You as well as I know that stuff like that dont work AT ALL. Sure it may stop some but it wont prevent him. The mosquitos have killed 199 people in the USA alone!

Also their is a couple times of death (187) from mosquitos!
Mike
Juber, do some research. The Mosquite Magnet works.

It is proven, and patented.

As for spraying, I don't think it's very effective. If you continually spray, eventually the mosquitos will be immune to the pesticides.

Mr. Rural Midwest
Mosquitos tend to adapt to all sprays over time. In our town we have a large population of barn swallows(a kind of bird) that eats mosquitos.

I propose re-introducing mosquitos natural predators...such as dragonflys, bats, swallows, martins etc to the marshes.

Also much can be curtailed by eliminating standing water in uncovered rain barrels, old tires, gutters etc.

We put a little catfish in our horse tank to eat all the mosquito larvae, it works well.

I don't know what the answer is for spraying for mosquitoes. All I know is that Illinois this last summer had the most related deaths from West Niles Disease. Scary thought if it is a fact mosquitoes become immune to the spray. So I ask what do you think we should do? wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif
