For those of you who don't use their calendars, or haven't seen the announcement thread it is this Saturday at 8pm ET/7pm CT.

I loved the last trivia game. I will not be home until after 9:00 P.M.
California time. So, it looks like I will not be able to be there. crying.gif

Any idea when the next trivia game will be happening (so I can
mark my calendar)?

Can someone tell me what this is? I was not here for the last installment. How is it played? Can someone give me a rundown?

Our first trivia challenge celebrates African-Americans.

Our second game will be Name that Tune. The hostesses will provide a snippet of lyrics to what many consider patriotic lyrics. Your goal is to provide the name of the song.

Our last quiz is on American Presidents.

We ask that sidebar talk be held to a minimum or use PM's to communicate so as not to disrupt the game.

If you believe you know the answer to a question, enter the letter "A" and wait for the hostess to call on you BEFORE giving the answer. In addition, please read the question prior to entering the letter “A”.

Each correct answer counts for 10 points.

The winner will be announced at the end of the game!

Come to the chatroom for a little slice of Americana, Saturday February, 21st, 8PM eastern.

It sounds like fun, but we're picking a friend up at the airport this evening. We dropped him off about a week ago so that he could attend (perform? He's a minister) his mother-in-law's funeral. He may want to go home and sleep. He may want to stay up and play cards. We'll probably play it by ear. If we're home by 8, we'll log in, I'm certain... flowers.gif

1) MLK - nope, Ralph Abernathy
2) Nat Turner - sorry, Marcus Garvey
3) The shoe lasting machine - wrong again, it was the traffic light
4) The Invisible Man - close - it was actually Juneteenth
5) 1965 - in fact, it was 1964
6) The United Nations - what? you mean the Congressional Black Caucus
7) Frederick Douglas - way out on this one - it was Hank Aaron
8) Plessy v. Ferguson - uh, no, that would be Dred Scott v. Sandford
9) James Baldwin - geez, no - it was Maya Angelou
10) Bill Clinton - finally! correct

Well, one out of ten ain't bad. Them questions were tough. Something tells me my official major league baseball, signed by Frederick Douglass, may not be worth much.
