I have yet to see the movie. However I have heard reveiws all night on the radio. I take the ones from the church groups with a grain of salt but have heard many other reveiws that talk about the quality of the film on a technical level. Directing, Camera work sets and props. I have also heard much about how well the actors presented emotion without being able to speak by their use of facial expressions.
Regardless, if this movie truly is so well done do you think it would have a fair chance at receiving any awards. Mel has really gone against the fold with this movie. Used his own money, all the hype about it (and him) being anti semitic and to be honest its a movie about Christianity and Jesus. This is a subject which rarely gets a fair shake in Hollywood and that comes from a devout atheist/agnostic.
Will it get a fair shot from the Awards entities?
If it doesn't what does that say about the entertainment industry as a whole?
