Right, they are paying too much. Still, my main point with the public school thing was that it's not communism smile.gif .

I am getting a bit frustrated with reminding people that this topic is to discuss how to help the ALREADY homeless. Do NOT debate what we can do to prevent future homelessness in this thread. You may start another thread on that if you wish.

PLEASE, PLEASE get back to discussing what to do NOW about the CURRENTLY homeless. ermm.gif

I just started a new thread to discuss: Public Schools, What should be on the curriculum?

We do give people free education.  It's called public school.  Not communism.   And going back a bit, here's what I think should be taught in schools:
1. English
2. Mathematics
3. Science
4. Foreign Language

Whereas things like history are nice, they aren't imperative to getting at least a basic job.

We do not give everyone free and equal education, that is the purpose of private schools. Sorry, I just realized that cyan just posted to stop this conversation, sorry!

I probably said someplace schools are communistic, but best way to put it is, it's semi-socialism

CLOSED. TOO MANY OFF TOPIC POSTS.

After my final warning, I let CP's post go, but I can't keep writing "stay on topic" every third post in this thread. It's distracting and those of you interested in this debate are probably sick of me typing it.

Perhaps someone will start a similar, new one and the members who post in it will be respectful enough to discuss the actual topic sad.gif
