It has been hard deciding whether America is too censored or not in these days. I have often wondered, are we being censored too much? What I also would like to know, from my fellow debaters, is, What is your opinion?
Do you feel that we are censored to much or too little?
Please e-mail me with your responses..it would be of much help!
Thank You!

I'd prefer everyone post their opinions here so that we may all debate the topic together. Thanks.

Take care-

I think we have just enough censorship. I am against the idea of going backwards and trying to apply MORE censorship. When I see something that disgusts me I change the channel. Simple as that.

I think censorship is #############.

Really, though. Where exactly are we censored?

Broadcast TV is pushing the rules all the time. Some of the words they use on NYPD Blue were certainly not acceptable ten years ago.

As far as I know, cable tv can do anything they want. Their restraint is a result of advertiser and public pressure, I believe.

We can make and listen to any music we want, no matter how horrible I think it is.

We can say just about anything we want, and write the same.

Or course, private entities do enforce censorship on people. Censorship occurs on this forum, and is absolutely necessary for a productive debate. If someone didn't want to be censored, they could simply choose not to participate.

So I see nothing wrong with censorship by the private sector, and I don't see much sensorship by the government.

This makes me one happy ###########.
