I am a Kerry supporter mad.gif . Not to happy about that reality but I absolutely think it is in Americas best interest to rid itself of Bush.

So I ask the question. Whether you are a Bush or Kerry supporter why would it be detrimental for the other guy to win? Meaning for me as his supporter John Kerry has to win because....

I do not think America can withstand the arrogant, unknowledgeable, unilateral and alienating approach of Bush's foreign policy. The very same foreign policy that is eroding America's future coalition and driving traditional allies away. Not to mention eliminating every Arab ally we had. Bush is the sole reason for record low world opinion polls on America. The ineptitude and arrogant approach of his administration mainly Don Rumsfeld and John Ashcroft and the anti-American card they pull at any and all opposition. I have never read about a president since Andrew Jackson who doesnt feel the need to explain himself of the major descisions he makes. I cannot tolerate a president who doesnt work. Who takes constant vacations during one of America's darkest times. Whose weekly briefing totals are about equal to those Bill Clinton went over in a day. I cannot tolerate a president who doesnt feel the need to apologize or admit his numerous mistakes. Like his mistakes on Iraq, his planning for Iraq, the canning and ignoring of saner voices on Iraq (White ,Blix, Shinseki, his father). I cannot tolerate his tax policy that according to something I saw on CSPAN the other day in the years 2001 and 2003 gave 50% of all tax cuts to thr richest 1% of Americans. The continual and rising deficit the very same deficit that happened during Reagan and his trickle down economic approach. I cannot tolerate his speeches that sound as if they come from an eighth grader and never offer anything of substance and are nothing more then practiced one line responses. I am not for a complete meritocracy but I prefer a president whose intellect and knowledge of the world were not below the average 12th grader. I think the president should no something about history not drawing a blank when names like Jonathan Pollard are asked of him. A president who doesnt think he should know an equal amount of world leaders as an average Joe or reporter. Bush simply lacks intellectual curiosity. I do not want want a president to drink a beer with. I want a president whose worldy knowledge dominates his administration. I want a president who calls press conferences and can answer with a response longer then 10 words. I want a superior not a peer.

In short John Kerry must win because Bush is an embarassment who lacks the understanding to truly know what he is doing and is too pigheaded to admit his many faults and mistakes. I would rather have a man of intelligence and self doubt who questions his choices then a man who despite his many mistakes and alienating ways keeps plowing ahead throwing caution to the wind the very same steam roll approach that is killing America and giving him Al Quadas endorsement. I want a president that reflects well on the United States because we cannot go it alone.

Kerry may not have much of a plan and I do not care, a change of face is the only thing that is going to help the United States on the international front.

Please dont try to refute my personal reasons. Just say why its in America's best interest that the other guy doesnt win from your personal standpoint.

This is a very strange and troubling way to attempt to frame a debate I think. You say you are for Kerry because he isn't Bush and assume that those who are for Bush are simply against Kerry? ermm.gif I don't think so. There isn't an ABK crowd out there. The foundation of the President's support is a positive foundation because those who support him believe he has and will lead this nation in the right direction. Come November, our votes for Bush will be affirmative votes.

I won't refute you. I'll agree with you that Kerry doesn't have a plan, but I do care! I think that it's in America's best interest that someone else with a plan wins! Those with a plan tend to do better by America than those without much of a plan. And I'll acknowledge and repeat that you don't think that Kerry has much of a plan.

Yes, I say I am for Kerry because he isnt Bush and I described what was so horrible IMO about Bush.

I should revise...Kerry does have a plan...He has Bush's plan. Which in both cases is nothing. The only things of great difference I see in Bush and Kerry is work ethic, self criticism, dying alliances and reversal of certain bogus tax laws.

That said please get back to the idea.

I will give you the essense of this topic.

Why would it be detrimental to America if the guy you dont support should happen to win?

Why is it imparitive that Bush or Kerry wins and the other loses?

In order to answer this question you essentially need to say whats so bad about the guy your not voting for and why the person you pick is better suited.
